Sciatica is when the sciatic nerve is compressed or irritated. It is the largest and widest nerve in the human body starting in the lower back that goes all the way down the buttocks and legs. When you have symptoms of sciatica, it is often very painful. Stretches that are recommended for it must be considered if it is appropriate for your type of sciatica. Some types of sciatica must be overseen by a physician, so more extreme measures can be taken than just stretches. But stretches for normal cases of sciatica can be an excellent method to reduce pain.
