My friend Gerry has been an aficionado of samurai swords all his life.  Recently he has started collecting these swords, along with some other martial arts supplies.  He recently acquired a beautiful antique sword which needed some work on its handle.  He knew just the person to do the repair work for him, an old friend and former instructor of his.  Before sending the sword off for repair, he spent a lot of time designing a new handle.  The design he came up with is intricately inlaid with a pattern that is quite meaningful to him.  He is very excited to see the finished results.
