our accommodation at alton towers was an old barn. detached from the main buildings,and converted into a one bedroom (double and two bunk beds)appartment with kitchen, toilet and a good sized living room.it had a peaked ceiling held in place with large very old  beems.the kids went to bed while i helped empty the cases and were asleep in no time.my wife went to bed as i studied the brochures for the surounding area, and of course the map for alton towers theme park.planning day two of our holiday,avetually nodding off for awhile before going to bed myself in what seemed like complete silence.
